I am a big fan of anything Dystopian in nature. At first I was not sure about this book, but Theo and his mind friend Phoe quickly caught me and sucked me in to the story. Theo actually tells the story and tells it well. In fact it was so well written I could not put it down. It also kind of makes you think, what if our word was like this? How would we survive, and what if we were whittled down to nothing but a few souls left on earth?

Need a tear jerker? This is the book for you. A beautifully written story about a young girl Krystyna Carmi. During the holocaust, she loses her whole family. As the only survivor from Oberty, she describes her life's story, which was not an easy one at all. The book includes photographs that will astound and mesmerize you. We are taught about WW 2 in schools, but this, this is the stuff we should also be reading. Sometimes the truth of a real person's story sheds more light on the situation.
